FVW's Birfday

That's right. It's my birthday.

It started off slow. I went to work. I was somewhat disappointed because I didn't get the good breakfast with coffee (preferably in bed with a white vase and red rose) I was hoping for but that would be thanks to the Subaru that decided to overheat the night before. Good stuff.

So, my birthday wasn't living up to my high expectations. Which, if you know me, I have. I am not a birthday diva or anything but I like to be a little special. (Like, wearing a birthday crown with dangly earrings isn't unheard of.)

Anywho, the morning presents were great from my ma and pa but the plans for the rest of the day weren't panning out (as in social alcohol wasn't quite happening).

Then, Mr Pepperworth picked me up from work took me to lunch and he made me go in an antique store which I always have hated but...he knew I would like it and I did. Now that I have my own house, the antique things have more meaning. However, it turns out when you have your own house to put cool antiques in, you still don't get cool antiques because with the home mortgage you don't have $525 to spend on the awesome table thing.

After my tantrum at the antique store because I wasn't getting anything, Mr Pepperworth then suggested that instead of going to a happy hour we should have homemade margaritas and watch a movie or play games in the evening. (I think he was trying to distract me from my stomping in the store. It was starting to shake the 70's white and gold cups off the shelves.)

But, with my gluten-free, vegan cupcakes (recipe from Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World...amazing book!) and games waiting for me this evening and getting my sissy's sweet gift/card in the mail, how could my day not have gotten better?

Vanilla cupcakes with chocolate frosting. Nice.
Feb 4 2011 is turning out to be a great day. Whew! We coulda had a it's-my-party-and-I'll-cry-if-I-want-to-situation on our hands people.

Happy Birthday to you, Precious First Born! That Mr. Pepperworth sure knows just what you need - a birthday party with fun games. Wow, you can have 28 friends at your party this year since age = # of friends is the party rule (maybe that only applies up to age 12). I hope everyone got the memo telling them they have to let you win every game cus you're the birthday girl. Your mommy and daddy love you.
Oh no! I forgot to send your sis a small gift so she won't cry.

Captain Zoom once again sang your birthday song today. It played all day in my head. "Hey Emily, It's your birthday. I'm in charge of the stars and I'm here to say - Hey Emily, it's your birthday TODAY." Dum de dum de dum ... dumdle de dum de dum ... etc. etc.

It's sounds like your B-day progressed along nicely. Your cupcakes certainly look quite fingerlicking delicious. I'm sorry that we Aquarians are so dang practical and thrifty that you just couldn't go for the birthday splurge .... but then you would have spent your whole birthday year feeling buyer's remorse.

Happy Belated Birthday! I am glad it ended up being a good one! (BTW and off the subject, your hair always looks so cute, whether straight or curly. Are you still using the flax seed oil to style it?)

Thanks everyone for the bday wishes. It was a good one. Relaxing and good.

CM- I am still doing the no-poo thing. I actually stopped using flax seed because I got too lazy to keep making it...although it takes like 5 min. Although, when my hair is straight, I don't put anything in it, I just use the straighten iron. When it is curly, I put a dab of gel or mousse and let it air dry. Air dry is the key for me. :)
